[Construction Case] Soft Ground Improvement Method

Even extremely weak ground that people cannot walk on can be made walkable by laying geotextile sheets!

We would like to introduce a case study of the "soft ground improvement method." In this project, it was necessary to carry out embankment work on extremely soft ground with an N value of less than 1 and a high groundwater level. The extremely soft ground was not only unsuitable for construction machinery but also impassable for humans. Therefore, it was essential to ensure the trafficability (mobility) of construction machinery when performing the embankment work. By laying down a "public mesh," the surface support capacity of the extremely soft ground was reinforced, making it possible for humans to walk on it. 【Case Overview】 ■ Challenges - The ground was impassable for humans, and it was necessary to ensure the trafficability (mobility) of construction machinery for the embankment work. ■ Results - By placing embankment on the ground where the public mesh was laid, we were able to reduce the sinking of the embankment into the soft ground. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

We would like to introduce a case where a high-strength fiber sheet (public sheet) was laid on a super weak ground, and surface bearing capacity reinforcement was implemented. In this site, the ground was weak and did not maintain the bearing capacity necessary for construction vehicles to pass as a construction road, necessitating reinforcement of the bearing capacity for the construction road. By laying the public sheet, the surface bearing capacity of the weak ground was reinforced, allowing construction vehicles to operate on the ground, and enabling the separation and protection of embankment soil and farmland soil. 【Case Overview】 ■ Issues - After using the land as a construction road, it is necessary to return it to its original soil condition. - There is a need to reinforce the bearing capacity for the construction road. ■ Effects - The surface bearing capacity of the weak ground was reinforced, allowing construction vehicles to operate on the ground. - It was possible to separate and protect the embankment soil and farmland soil. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
